The Language of the Web
A dynamic and versatile programming language that runs in the browser and on the server.
Created in 1995 at Netscape in ten days, JavaScript became the programming language of the browser and later of servers, desktop apps and IoT. The 2015 ES6 standard and annual releases modernized it into a genuinely pleasant language with closures, promises and modules. Every developer touches it eventually: it powers 98% of websites, and the npm registry is the largest package ecosystem in software.
Who it's for
Everyone building for the browser and beyond: the web's programming language.
